The Brutal Action Packed Confrontation Between Rihanna and Chris Brown
“When he could not force her to exit, he took his right hand and shoved her head against the passenger window of the car. ”
“The victim then faced the defendant and he punched her in the left eye with his right hand. He then continued driving.”
“As he drove, he continued to punch the victim in the face with his right hand while steering the vehicle with his left hand.”
Replacement of LRT 1 & 2 Stored Value Card (Eye)
I went to the LRT 1 United Nations station and explained to the staff member that my Php 100 stored value card was not exited properly because the LRT 2 train I was riding on 27 August 2009 had stopped and the whole system had shut down, i.e. it was a code yellow situation wherein new passengers were not allowed to enter and the train passengers were requested to alight and exit the station.
Stored Value Cards for LRT 1 and 2 (Eye)
This is probably not news for regular LRT 1 and 2 users, but, it was for a regular MRT user such as myself. My recent forays into Manila made me aware of the fact that the previously separate cards for the two lines have now been integrated into one card. Thus, one stored value card will work on both the LRT 1 and 2, making it more convenient and less confusing in distinguishing between the SV cards.
DFA Slow Processing of Philippine Passports (Ire)
You would think that anything connected to the multi-billion peso industry of remittances from OFWs abroad would merit support from the Philippine government. Yet the facilities of the Department of Foreign Affairs woefully lack the basic comforts and the number of personnel necessary to process passports in a timely manner.
The Poor Facilities The very first step to get a Philippine passport is housed in a basketball court that is open at the sides, making it vulnerable to the elements. On 24 August 2009, the heat of the sun made the long winding lines a sweltering sauna of too many people squeezed into a too small space.
First Day at Instituto Cervantes Manila Learning Español
The increase of Spanish speaking readers in my other blog, A Twilight Kiss, prompted me to enroll in twice a week night classes to learn Español at the respected Instituto Cervantes in Manila.
Our first class on 18 August 2009 already had the thirteen students speaking in Spanish in mock conversations of faux first time meetings, greetings, introductions and farewells. Our teacher, who requested us to call her Señora Trini, spoke in Spanish half of the time. Truly, it was not a tepid toe in the water type of experience but a plunge in the deep end.
NBI Clearance Center Carriedo Fast Processing (Eye)
If you need a NBI Clearance, I will highly recommend the NBI Clearance Center in Carriedo. And, before you dismiss it as being too far, let me reassure you that it’s only two buildings away from the LRT 1 Carriedo station (I’ll post the pic later). Since the LRT 1 line is accessible via MRT and LRT 2, then the NBI Clearance Center in Carriedo becomes just a hop and a skip away.
