Tanghalang Pilipino recently celebrated its 20th year, with incoming Artistic Director Dennis Marasigan, who unveiled Tanghalang Pilipino’s new logo, ruminating about the company’s evolution with the demand of the times. But continuing founding Tanghalang Pilipino’s Artistic Director Nonon Padilla’s vision remains and will be reflected in this year’s acting workshops.
The Playshop 2007 theme of “Pass It On†is based on the fact that Playshop instructors have been passing on their knowledge and expertise for the past 13 years.
The seed has borne fruit, some of the most noticeable of which are Asian pop star Christian Bautista, teen star Sam Concepcion, first Philippine Idol finalist Reymond Sajor, and the Playshop Kids.
Claudine Barretto, Karel Marquez, Ciara Sotto and Monique Wilson have, at one time or the other, been students of the Repertory Philippines Summer Acting Workshop.
