For the first time, we tried Goldilocks Bakeshop Picture Cakes to celebrate my nephew’s birthday. We knew he would be pleased to see one of his favorite moments—when his pic was taken with WWE Superstar Batista last 09 September 2006. He was so pleased, in fact, that we had to promise to eat only the edges of the cake so that the illustration in the center remains immaculate.

Frankly, I was surprised with the high quality of the picture. I have put the actual picture and the cake images together for comparison.

If there is one person who does NOT need any anti-ageing product, it’s theatre thespian Menchu Lauchengco-Yulo who continues to amaze audiences with her talent and ageless beauty. I first worked with Menchu in Repertory Philippines production of Rodgers and Hammerstein King and I in 1990 where she played the exquisite Tuptim; and, honestly, she looks even lovelier now.

Despite the Australian accent, the looks of obvious Asian ancestry and a Spanish sounding surname made me surmise that the petite member of Hi-5 had Filipino roots, an assumption that was confirmed when during one episode where the Hi-5 members wore different flags, Kathleen donned a costume with the Philippine flag emblazoned on it.
