Phone etiquette requires that all mobile phones inside the theater be put on silent mode, and, by implication, all mobile phone calls be rejected or taken outside. So when the delightful Emma Thompson script of Nanny McPhee was interrupted by the ringing of a mobile phone I was a tad irritated.
Now, if the recipient would answer to say he’s watching a movie and will call back later, it can be forgiven. However, when it goes beyond this standard conversation, I consider it unacceptable.
