King Kong and Narnia Win Oscars

Narnia PosterThe Chronicles of Narnia The Lion The Witch and the Wardrobe bagged the Achievement in Makeup Oscar, besting over Star Wars and Cinderella Man; then lost most of the technical awards to King Kong in the categories that both films were nominated in, namely, Achievement in Sound Mixing and Visual Effects.

A bit of trivia here, but when Douglas Gresham, the stepson of C.S. Lewis, got the news about the 3 nominations for the Narnia films, a fellow hag (from the Trumpets musical), in the form of Mayen Bustamante-Cadd, was in the vicinity. She, who had kept in touch with Douglas through email, was fortuitously visiting him at that time in his manor in Ireland.
