Fitness First Opens Itself for Legal Action for Sexual Harassment (Ire)

29 March 2006

Hey Manager,
I am a bit miffed.
Here’s why…

Part of {teacher ’s name} charm is his patter of sexual innuendoes that are usually directed at himself. However, during the Body Jam launch he chose to direct it at {client name}, whom he declared he “wants to father his children.”

During one track, to pattern it after the song lyrics, he kept asking different clients, “Are you horny?”

3 Things to Consider Before Enrolling Your Child in an Acting Workshop

A mom asked me recently for advice about whether she should enroll her child in an acting workshop. This is a summary of the salient points of our conversation, which may be applicable to other situations, like a dance or sports workshop.

Summer Schedule At some point, of course, the family is going off on a vacation. But how long is it? And more importantly, when?

Any extended vacation (lasting 4-7 days) should be taken during the weekend as much as possible to avoid any class absences (assuming the classes are from Monday to Friday), PLUS, they must be taken in April.

The New Les Mills Body Jam Choreographer

Les Mills Body Jam Choreographer Gandalf In one Fitness First Philippines branch where the new Les Mills choreography had not yet been launched, one member requested the Body Jam instructor for one more Latin track. His reason? There’s no more Latin steps in the new Body Jam release, and he was going to sorely miss it for the next six weeks when it’s mandatory for all the instructors to teach the latest choreography.

The main advantage of the most recent release is that it will probably attract the male members more because of the deletion of the ultra feminine tracks that have been the stigma of the Body Jam choreography among those belonging to the male gender.

What’s Up Last Week #25

The Nike Rockstar Workout Hiphop 2006 is on tonight, 27 March 2006, at the NBC Tent. Although slated at 7pm, expect the Nike Rockstar event to start a little bit late.

Since I caught a glimpse of the event poster in the bulletin board at the entrance to the male locker room at Fitness First Greenhills, I’m going to assume that it’s open to both sexes.

Chuckles — A ‘Joey from TV series Friends’ Moment

Instead of the usual plucking, a friend decided to try threading to shape her eyebrows. (Threading is a technique where a thread is wound around the eyebrow hair, and, with a quick pull that is supposedly painless, is quickly removed. Women from India have been doing this for hundreds of years.)

However, my friend found the process unbearably painful, and had to take a cigarette break in between to recover, i.e. only one eyebrow has been threaded.

How to Lower Your Globe Mobile Phone Expenses

GlobeI was flabbergasted to learn that several Globe subscribers of my acquaintance are not taking advantage of the current promos that Globe’s offering, sometimes out of total ignorance about the promo or sometimes because of the unclear directions on how to avail of the promo. Here are the three current promos that every Globe subscriber should use to lower their Globe mobile phone expenses.

Call instead of texting. This is one of those rare times when calling might be cheaper than texting because of Globe’s 10c/sec Rate Promo.

Remember, a regular SMS costs Php 1, so if the information that you require will take less than 10 seconds to acquire, better call than text. Examples are inquiries like, “Where are you?” or “Did you bring it?” This kind of inquiries will probably take 5 seconds or less, so the cost is approximately Php 0.50, a savings of at least 50 cents or more.

To do this, just delete the 0 from the Globe number and change it to 232, so the number should now read 232917… Use this number to call.

Fitness First Eastwood Les Mills Launch — 2nd Quarter 2006

Gerry's Grill BuffetGerry’s Grill Buffet- In all the Les Mills launches I’ve attended at different Fitness First branches for the past couple of years, the night of 22 March 2006 was my first time to see FREE FOOD, as in we’re talking about inihaw na manok and tuna sisig with rice, courtesy of Gerry’s Grill. There were a couple more viands, but I wasn’t able to find out what they were. Whatever, all I can say is, “Wow!”
