New Globe UNLIMITXT SMS Activation Notices

GlobeFrom the activation notices, I’m deducing that Globe is changing its unlimited SMS service’s name from TXT NONSTOP to UNLIMTXT, probably for better recall.

And aside from the previous products of Php 15/1 day, Php 25/2 days and Php 50/5 days, there is an additional Php 100/10 days service being offered (but, as of the moment, i.e., 28 March 2006, I’m not sure whether the Php 100/10 days service is being continued because it’s not mentioned in the activation notices, free advisory or ads).

Also, to further accommodate its growing market, Globe has changed the activation notices for unlimited Globe to Globe texts from purely English to a combination of English and Tagalog.

The Return of the King Trivia

I caught the last 45 minutes of The Return of the King film, the third installment of The Lord of the Rings trilogy, on HBO last night, and I thought that you might find it more interesting to watch if you had some trivia at the back of your mind. These facts were gathered from the commentaries and appendices of the Return of the King Extended DVD version.

Peter Jackson, the director, saw the finished edited film of The Return of the King for the first time during the world wide premiere at Wellington, New Zealand.

You can hear Liv Tyler, aka Arwen, singing on the Return of the King Extended DVD during the added Houses of Healing scene where Aragorn (Viggo Mortensen) heals Eowyn (Miranda Otto). Liv’s singing voice, like her speaking voice, is angelic.

3. The MRT has the biggest changes in height from just above street level to 3-4 stories high, like to and from the Ortigas or Quezon Ave. stations.
4. The MRT has 9 train cars, 3 of which are attached at a time, so that’s 3 sets of cars that you can choose from.
5. The LRT 2 does not have benches in its stations, while the LRT 1 and MRT do.

What’s Up Last Week #20

The biggest surprise of January was Bare Essentials Red Hot Ensembles, which garnered the most number of daily visits at 246. It seems that a lot of people are thinking of what to wear on Valentine’s Day. The suggestions are mostly appropriate for after the date activities though, although some can be paired with a pair of pants or a skirt, like the corsets and baby doll sets.

Chuckles — The Hansel and Gretel Inspiration

Watching a couple of friends recently munching happily on their breaded fried chicken made me remember my disastrous first attempt of cooking the same thing at a very ignorant age, meaning, before I knew that oil can splatter anywhere while cooking, and that it’s very painful to have it land on your skin, and before I knew what bread crumbs were.

McDonald’s vs. Burger King Coupons (Eye)

Customarily, I politely refuse leaflets and such, but, just in case you come across promo people handing out coupons for Burger King or McDonald’s, better grab them because they contain some pretty good deals, especially the ones of Burger King (I got mine from the MRT station and the mall).

Bigger Savings The Burger King coupons are obviously meant to promote the Whopper Jr., since 6 out of the 9 coupons offer a variety of deals that has the consumer ending up with the famous sandwich.

Honestly, ever since Burger King rescinded its offer regarding its free drink refills, or lessened it considerably, I’ve hardly gone back to the establishment. Consequently, the Whopper Jr. is something of an unknown to me.

Araneta Coliseum February 2006 Schedule

SharonCunetaI can’t believe that I was so out of the loop that I totally didn’t know that the Backstreet Boys had a concert here until it was already done. I hope to amend my ignorant state this time around with regards to the events at the Araneta Coliseum, well, at least for February.

A good tip would be to pay more attention to the music that’s being played over the Araneta Coliseum’s outdoor speakers, for they seem to indicate who’s performing. For example, I have been perplexed why I kept hearing Andy Williams’ voice or Sharon Cuneta’s classic “Mr. DJ,” but all became clear when I saw the February schedule.
