What’s Up Last Week #19

Philippines is touted as a country that takes Valentine’s Day quite seriously, and has been documented with a high average expenditure on that day. For the male population that’s expected to come up with something to wow their ladies, I’ve combed through the shelves of the Bare Essentials shop for suggestions, and came up with For Him— Naughty Valentine Gifts.

Letters from Johanna Lindsey & Jean Auel & Iris Johansen

The email that my friend’s daughter received from Diana Zubiri reminded me of my own carefully written letters that were sent with bated hopes that they will be read, and eventually responded to. But my chosen recipients were authors, not actors, and months later, I was ecstatic when my fragile hopes were realized when they all responded.

Johanna Lindsey's Signature Johanna Lindsey’s Letter- Probably the most well-known among the three, having a very well established niche in the romance genre, Ms. Lindsey shared her plans for future books.

Still Charged for Unsubscribed SMS Info (Ire)

My friend, who already reported how her credit balance was being debited by Unsubscribed SMS Info, was given a Php 300 prepaid card and an assurance that her case has already been reported, and presumably, taken cared of.

Cheap Eats — Chocolat

Instead of the usual date on Valentine’s Day, why not invite friends over for a chocolate cake tasting party? Chocolate Slice Chocolate Slice- The cakes are so moist they feel heavenly inside the mouth, and they stay that way even after a week inside the ref. What’s more, when you buy by the slice, you’ll find that the sides are coated with chocolate icing as well.

Trumpets Premiere of The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe

Narnia PosterTrumpets recently sponsored the premiere of The Lion The Witch and the Wardrobe at the Power Plant Mall on 08 January 2006. The good news is all the tickets were sold, but it did leave a lot of hopeful people disappointed because they couldn’t watch the film with us. As I’ve mentioned, it’s a reunion of sorts, and it was a lot of fun to see people I haven’t seen in a while.

What’s Up Last Week #18

The musical of Trumpets The Lion The Witch and the Wardrobe is one of my favorites and totally indelibly marked in my memories. As one of the White Witch’s minions, it was so rare for me as an actor to be able to be supremely evil and revel in that devilry. That’s why watching as Glorietta Launches The Lion The Witch and the Wardrobe with excerpts from the play brought tears to my eyes as the memories welled up.

It was the perfect prelude to watching the movie, and I looked forward to seeing the other cast members and be able to wear my “Hagged” shirt. I’ve posted the pictures from the premiere in Trumpets Premiere of The Lion The Witch and the Wardrobe.
