Attending a class at the gym studio can be quite hazardous to your health. Check out the following gym character descriptions and see if any sounds familiar, or maybe you can recognize as having one or two characteristics yourself.

The Possessive Stalker Some students can become very possessive about their so called “spot” in class, when the truth of the matter is, it’s a free world, no one has a right to claim any particular space in the studio, except to follow the “first come first served” rule, which allows the student to stay in a “spot” by virtue of being the first to be there.

Bumbling Finds — Shopwise

Taking a more leisurely stroll through the aisles of Shopwise revealed some finds that I might have otherwise missed if I had gone through in a flash. I’m not really sure if they’re new, all I know is they’re new to me.

Advance Lipstick and Shimmer Advance Lipstick and Shimmer- The combination of lipstick and shimmer at P100 from Advance of Ever Bilena is such a steal.

What’s Up This Week #6

A quick glance at the categories has revealed that I still haven’t introduced the newly created Beauty Befuddlements category. For the next two weeks, there will be two posts—one will be a list of beauty products that I stumbled upon in Shopwise–Bumbling Finds #1- Shopwise, which will start a series of posts about the different products that I find “accidentally,” hence the title Bumbling Finds.

Nike Women Tribes Contest Schedule at Fitness First

Nike Yoga LogoI swear, trying to get the schedule for this event was like drawing blood from stone. With the exception of the Alabang branch, specifically, Mr. Perseus Sebrero, all the other Fitness First branches’ reception staff put me in varying lengths of holding time, which irked me considerably.

The worst case was the time when I had to request for it 7 times before I finally got the service. And, there’s a 50-50 chance that you will be wrongly debited, which involves even more dialing because you have to call the hotlines to correct the situation.

What’s Up this Week #5

The owners of Six Degrees kindly agreed to let me observe a speed dating session last night. For those who have never heard of the term, it refers to a dating service where an equal group of unattached males and females are brought together in a social setting.

During the informal get-together, the participants are led to do an activity that resembles musical chairs, wherein everyone is given a chance to get acquainted for 3 minutes or so, exchange partners, and repeat the same process. Still confused? Don’t worry, I’ll be discussing it in detail, and giving my impressions as well.

Repertory Philippines Taming of the Shrew

Repertory Philippines currently running play, Taming of the Shrew, is part of the British Council’s Shakespeare festival. This particular depiction is distinctive with its hankering for a historical mode approach. Bart Guingona wrote in his director’s notes, “Imagine then a troupe of men doing a comedy whose style was broad as in commedia dell arte, making fun of the practice of bargaining for spouses and the taming of potential mates.”
