Encantadia Fiery Scare

Imaw with Encantadia cast GMA 7’s Encantadia, Nielsen’s #3 rated show for the year 2005’s second quarter, nearly had a fiery mishap last June. Thankfully, no one was hurt in what could have been a costly and dreadful disaster.

The day in question seemed to be riddled with hindrances that tested everybody’s mettle and patience. In particular, it was supposed to be a regular shooting day for the puppet team, of which I was a part of. Furthermore, the puppet team was only scheduled to tape 3 sequences, an unusually small number that created the possibility of what could very well be a very short working day.

KFC Funshots – By the Grams or Pieces? (Ire)

Opening the extra large box of KFC’s Funshots on July 22, 2005 and finding it half-full was upsetting. Quite certain there must have been a mistake, I returned it to the delivery person to be remedied.

The box did return later about ¾ full but I was informed that there was no mistake earlier. An extra large box was supposed to contain 18 pieces of chicken and the box earlier did have 18 pieces.

The situation was further aggravated by the fact that the delivery person didn’t give me the 40 centavos change KFC owed me.

Powebooks Harry Potter Event at Glorietta (Part 2)

Last July 16, 2005, there were several photo opportunities for Harry Potter fans aside from the Quidditch set-up. Aside from dressing up in the famous red Gryffindor Quidditch robes, my friend and I also pretended to be students in a study room set-up. And my heart swelled as I posed in front of a huge blown up tarpaulin of the cover of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.

Powebooks Harry Potter Event at Glorietta (Part 1)

Powerbooks’ event at the Glorietta Activity Center last July 16, 2005 proved more to be than what I expected. An arch proclaiming Diagon Alley welcomed all visitors. Moreover, when we arrived at 11am, we were exultant when we saw there was no line for the Powerbooks’ Harry Potter 6 receipt holders. And we were pleasantly surprised when we were given a small stack of coupons for the freebies.

Planet Infinity – 24 Hour Gym

With the proliferation of food outlets and services that are available for 24 hours, I think it was inevitable that a gym would also be open for 24 hours, thus, the birth of Planet Infinity last October 2004. From Tuesdays to Saturdays it is open 24 hours, and then it closes down on Sunday for maintenance and reopens on Monday 6am.

Fitness First July 25, 2005 Class Schedule

With the declaration of a holiday, the Fitness First gyms have cut down on their operating hours to the standard 8am-8pm schedule. However, some branches have lengthened their schedule by 30 minutes like Alabang and Makati, or even an hour like Manila and Metro East. Some have retained an almost regular schedule like the Metro East branch but most have cut down to a minimum of 4 classes like Ortigas and RCBC.

Starbucks Precautions Against Terrorism (Eye)
