iBlog4 A full day of events on 26 April 2008 started with the iBlog4 seminar at the Malcolm Hall in the University of the Philippines campus, where, for three hours, I was enlightened a little bit more about the blogosphere through the talks of Charo Nuguid, Juan Karlo Licudine, Juned Sonido and Jonas Diego. A surprise was an aborted chat with Brian Gorell, who did a special video for the bloggers who attended iBlog4.

Internet’s Lovely Surprises

For the past several weeks, I’ve been privileged to have experienced the kindness of the Internet denizens. It’s just so lovely when you go online and there’s a wonderful surprise waiting for you, or, as you’re online, something pops on your screen that makes your brain freeze with disbelief, such as this first surprise.

I Dream of an Email from Alfonso Cuaron

Alfonso CuaronWhile I marveled with my sister regarding the fact that one of the composers and lyricists of Avenue Q, Jeff Marx, found me through the Internet, what she said next sent me screaming.

My sister said that if Jeff Marx found me, it’s perfectly possible that Alfonso Cuaron can also find me through the Internet, and will be moved enough to email me.

As my webmaster Manuel Viloria replied to my SMS thanking him, “I may have helped put up the blog, but it’s your words that weave the magic.”

Avenue Q Manila Cast Avenue Q Manila 2007 - There were reservations about investing in this Atlantis Productions play, but I knew the material, and had seen a Repertory Philippines summer production, so I persuaded my co-investors to take a chance.

Buoyed by the success of the first run, we proceeded to invest in the second run as well.

Chuckles — Avenue Q Manila Opening Night Ticket Status

On the morning of 14 December 2007, the Ticketworld report stated that we still had 41 tickets left to sell for the show later that night. So I prayed, “God, it’s payday and people are going to go out tonight. Please let thirty people make an impulse decision to watch Avenue Q on opening night.”
