The Forgotten ID At 11.15am on 28 May 2008, I went to the PBCom Cubao branch with the intention of collecting my Western Union Google Adsense payment in dollars.

Having gotten used to EBusiness Services (another authorized Western Union dealer) only requiring one ID, I just brought my driver’s license. The PBCom associate (sorry I lost her calling card and I can’t remember her name) in charge of Western Union payments informed me of the bank’s requirement of two government issued IDs.

A Watery Discovery At home, I discovered that my three takeout orders of KFC arroz caldo (congee) on 16 May 2008 were watery. The three bowls held so much liquid that no rice could be seen floating on top. Whatever rice bits it held had to be coaxed upwards by a spoon. Dismayed, I wondered what I could do. Since it was takeout, I couldn’t exactly go to the counter and request for replacements.

Pizza Hut Bistro Surprise As I gave my HSBC credit card to the Pizza Hut Bistro Galleria server on 06 May 2008, she informed us that there is an ongoing HSBC promo of a Free Combo Platter for every Php 500 transaction paid for with a HSBC credit card.

She asked if it would be alright for us to wait 15 minutes for the kitchens to prepare the Combo Platter for takeout. Of course, we said yes to this very pleasant surprise.

A Food Dilemma A sudden request to babysit three kids had me worried about what to feed them for dinner as I sped to my brother’s place. I wasn’t able to pass by any restaurant for take out nor withdraw enough cash for a large order delivery.

Last 08 February 2008 2pm, I stared at the Php 150 the Metrobank P. Tuazon branch teller had slid towards me.

I had given her Php 5,000 for a Php 4,800 deposit so I was expecting Php 200. The teller explained that since the Metrobank account I was making a deposit to was a regional one, I was going to be charged Php 50.
