Ploning Voted as the Philippine Entry for the 2009 Oscars
Ploning hopes to be one of the nominees for the 2009 Oscars in the Best Foreign Language Film category, as it was recently chosen as the Philippine entry by a special committee formed by the Board of Governors of the Film Academy of the Philippines.
The five member special committee was headed by National Artist for Film Eddie Romero as chairman, and, was specifically tasked to select the Philippine entry through an elimination and voting process.
A total of four films were screened by the five member special committee: Ploning, Caregiver, Endo and Tribu.
