Oscar winner Dustin Hoffman’s breakthrough role was in the 1967 film The Graduate, where he played Benjamin Braddock, a college graduate seduced by an older woman named Mrs. Robinson. The film has been adapted since then for the stage, and has enjoyed both Broadway and West End runs.
Of the Repertory Philippines production, The Graduate director Jaime del Mundo has said, “Most of you in my generation have probably seen it, a wonderful, wonderful landmark film that actually made the character played by Anne Bancroft, kind of a ’60s icon.”
Often seen in wholesome roles, veteran stage actress Pinky Marquez steps out of her comfort zone to become the seductive Mrs. Robinson, while upcoming theater actor Reb Atadero has been cast to play the confused young man Benjamin Braddock.
The Graduate will run from 05-28 April 2013 at OnStage, Greenbelt 1, Makati, with 8pm shows on Fridays and Saturdays, and matinee shows at 3.30pm on Saturdays and Sundays. For tickets, please call Ticketworld at 891.9999
