Chuckles — The Batibot Tree Spirit at De La Salle University Manila

It was early evening as bloggers Arvin and Alice, my sister Weng and I strolled down the path leading to the South Gate exit of De La Salle University Manila after watching A Fire in the Soul cantata at the Teresa Yuchengco Auditorium, when Alice stumbled upon a fruit on the ground that was quite regal in appearance.
It was so intriguing that Arvin took pictures of it, while we all oohd and ahhd over it. However, only one person can take it home. Alice and I weren’t interested but Weng was. Generously, Arvin, who works at La Salle said he could get another one in the future, so he gave it to my sister. While doing so, he told us that the tree is affectionately called the Batibot tree by La Sallians.
As if awoken by his words, the Batibot tree suddenly released another of its beautiful fruits, like presenting a gift to Arvin.
Although it can be easily dismissed as coincidence, I will probably mentally say, “Tabi, tabi po,” in the future when I pass the Batibot tree. Haha!
