While inquiring about a copy of the Xanadu DVD at Odyssey Gateway on 06 Sept 2010, I heard a snatch of the Xanadu theme, which, of course, made my head turn to find out the source.

I spied a CD cover with Rachel Alejandro being held by one of the sales staff. As soon as the other client moved away, I requested if I could look at the list of songs. The very first one was entitled Fine Fine Line, which made me listen to the CD immediately.

It was indeed the enchanting Fine Fine Line from Avenue Q, as sung by the musical theatre star who opened it in Manila — Rachel Alejandro

Moreover, there’s a cut of the Xanadu theme, the musical version of which is currently being run at the RCBC Theater. (By the way, Rachel’s singing of the hit songs from Xanadu, especially Suspended in Time and Dancin’, are just exquisite. It made me watch the musical for a second time.)

Rachel Alejandro’s Believe album also contains her own version of Don’t Stop Believing by Journey, which has found a new set of fans through the TV hit series Glee. And then, there’s the duet with her father, Hajji Alejandro, of You Were There by Southern Sons

All these for the price of Php 285! Atlantis Productions should be selling the Believe CDs at the RCBC lobby!

For Xanadu tickets, please call Atlantis Productions at 892.7078 or 840.1187

I watched Xanadu last night with my sis and we couldn’t stop laughing. Especially with the audience-interaction part. Those were just random! :D
