BTI Money Transfer Returns Change (Eye)
To my relief, one of the remittance centers in Lucky Plaza on Orchard opened early at 8.30am last 29 July 2010. Although I have never used BTI Money Transfer before, it’s one of the accredited centers of BPI so I felt it was alright to try it.
To my surprise, not only do they open early, but, they also remit the money within the day so that it gets credited to one’s Philippine bank account on the same day for a fee of S$5.
On the other hand, Metro Remittance, the center that I previously used, takes around a couple of days for the remittance fee of S$4, so I gladly paid the extra S$1 for the faster transaction.
However, in my excitement, I totally forgot to take my S$5 change afterward from BTI Money Transfer. When I got home, I immediately called the number printed on the receipt — 67330103 — and teller Laila clearly remembered me and advised that all I need to do is to return to the BTI Money Transfer Lucky Plaza branch to get my money.
Although I promised I would go within the week, I totally forgot until a month later when I returned on 29 August 2010 to the same branch. Apprehensively, I explained the situation to teller Letty, unsure whether I would still get the S$5 due to the long period of time that had elapsed.
Luckily, teller Laila was right beside her, and she immediately opened her drawer and took out a S$5 bill with an attached note. She even remembered that it was from my first transaction! Wow!
Thanks so much to teller Laila of BTI Money Transfer for her excellent memory! I will surely be doing my next remittance with the same branch.
