Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games Mascot Lyo
Purely by chance, while attending the Short + Sweet Theatre Festival Singapore 2010 Programme 3 on 23 July 2010 at The Hall in The Arts House, a 2010 Youth Olympic Games event was being held right outside the theatre venue, where Mascot Lyo kindly posed for me.
I recognized Lyo immediately from the numerous posters that announced the recently concluded 2010 Youth Olympic Games that were held in Singapore from 14 – 26 August 2010.
The features of Lyo are symbolic of Singapore and the Olympic Games.
Lyo’s mane resembles the Flame of Passion of the Spirit of Youth, the emblem of the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games. It also calls to mind the Singapore 2010 tagline ‘Blazing the Trail’. His paw is shaped like [the] Singapore island.
