Venus Raj Could Have Won the 2010 Miss Universe Pageant
As soon as Miss Universe Philippine contestant Venus Raj finished her answer in the final round for the top five, I texted to a couple of friends, “The best we can hope for is first runner up, but, definitely not the crown.”
ABCNews proclaims that her answer ruined any chance for winning the beauty pageant.
After she expertly negotiated platform heels and a bikini, Miss Philippines had been favored to win the whole contest. But with that answer? Raj took fourth, and Miss Mexico Jimena Navarrete took the title. No answer, no crown, it seems.
What is frustrating for me is the fact that Venus Raj could have answered this question brilliantly with the multitude of challenges that she had to face in order to join the beauty pageant. Her trainor could have prepared her better for a question that’s a standard query in almost every job interview. Sayang… Sayang talaga…
