Global Residence Tiong Bahru Non Notice of Fogging (Ire)

My housemate was treated to repeated cussing on my part on the morning of 20 August 2010 (which I later apologized for via SMS). The reason for the s—t, f—k and p—a? Noxious gases from the regular conduction of fogging (to kill pests) were streaming in through the open windows and garbage chute in terrifying clouds.

I scrambled to close all possible entrances into the flat and hurriedly strove to cover the chute’s edges with masking tape while trying not to breathe, even though my heart was pounding with the sudden burst of energy.

What made the episode even more harrowing was the fact that I had work in just an hour, and, if inhaling the gases had triggered a bad asthma attack, I would have to be absent.

I called the Global Residence administration office and inquired whether they had put up notices. I pointed out that I had gone home at 8pm the night before and had not read any memos posted near the first floor entrance, as is the usual case. True enough, when I went down from the flat to go to Universal Studios, there was no memo posted. The staff apologized.

What is noteworthy of Global Residence on Tiong Bahru is that the staff members of the administration office do listen and try their utmost best to correct mistakes and accede to reasonable requests.
