Chuckles — One Degree of Separation from the Wizarding World of Harry Potter
A day in July 2010 turned out to be a fantastic day. A cast mate was relating how somebody from Universal Studios Orlando has flown to Singapore and was paying the theme park a visit; but, what really made me excited was to learn that he was the head of entertainment of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
When a stranger walked into our backstage area, I couldn’t help but pipe up, “Excuse me, are you the guy from Harry Potter?”
Despite my strange question, he replied cordially, “Yes, I am.”
Jumping up and down excitedly (as in if I had been a Snitch I would have been zooming all over the place and not even Harry Potter can catch me), I requested if I could have my picture taken with him and explained, “You’re the nearest person I’m going to get to Harry Potter!”
Generously, he did so, and that was the only time I was able to inquire what his name was. It’s Adam Rivest
