Call for Entries to the Short + Sweet Theatre Festival 2010 & 2011

Short + Sweet Theatre Singapore 2010 Poster

The concept of Short + Sweet is extraordinary — “it showcases bite-sized dramatic treats – each less than 10 minutes.” From a playwright’s point of view, it’s a “friendly” way to dip one’s toes in a medium that usually requires at least one act that lasts 45 minutes.

From an audience’s point of view, it’s also more “friendly” because I think a spectator is more willing to risk an unknown playwright’s work if it’s in “bite-size,” plus, one is treated to a smorgasbord of plays instead of just one or two in a couple of hours.

If you submit your work by 27 August 2010, it will be considered for four Short + Sweet festivals in Australia and India — Sydney, Auckland, Brisbane and Delhi.

Next Script deadline is for Short+Sweet Brisbane 2010 on August 27th, 2010.

Scripts entered before this deadline are automatically considered for the following festivals:

+ Short+Sweet Brisbane 2010 (Deadline: August 27, 2010)
+ Short+Sweet Delhi 2010 (Deadline: August 29, 2010)
+ Short+Sweet Sydney 2011 (Deadline: September 10, 2010)
+ Short+Sweet Auckland 2011 (Deadline: TBC, early 2011)

That’s entry to four Short+Sweet festivals for the one entry fee of AUD$20 [an estimated Php 900].
