Up In the Air Film

Director Jason Reitman was so successful in creating a cinematic panorama that consists of a lone man bent on continuing his solitary existence that I was far removed from the character almost from the very beginning. Therefore, I couldn’t summon the empathy for George Clooney’s character, Ryan Bingham, when he attempted to connect with his family and a lover. Up in the Air left me cold.
Moreover, unlike the scripts of Jason Reitman’s past films, Up in the Air lacked the brilliant wit and charm of Oscar winner for original screenplay Juno and Thank You For Smoking
