Nine Film

It did not bode well when I actually dozed off during the musical number of Dame Judi Dench while watching the film Nine at 11.20pm at the Golden Village Vivo City on 13 February 2010. And that happened even when I made sure that I was bolstered by the caffeine in a coffee and chocolate drink — Starbucks Java Chip Frappuccino. Venti size!
I was only riveted during the number of Fergie as Saraghina, a whore from the childhood account of Daniel Day Lewis’ character – Guido Contini. I think it was due to the fact that there was real dancing and singing during the performance, while the rest of the predominantly female roles were essayed by beautiful talented actresses who can carry a tune.
I’m now very curious about the staging on Broadway of the 1982 Tony Award winner for Best Musical
