The Cool Heat of Singapore

The heat of Singapore is deceptive. It does not burn the skin, hitting one’s body with a cool heat that’s pleasant, surprising since the country is mere degrees from the equator.

My theory is that the reason lies with the city’s planning. Despite the fact that Singapore is mainly a city, and therefore prone to overheating, the government has made sure that numerous greenery and the waterways wind its way through the city, bringing down the temperature considerably.
