Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila Responds Re Crotch High Slits (Eye)

Thanks to a very revealing comment left on this blog by a Spiral restaurant client, I felt compelled once again to contact Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila’s Assistant Front Office Manager Darwn Labayandoy regarding the matter of the crotch high slits of its wait staff.

With a non-reply for the second time, I resorted to leaving a comment on the international website of Sofitel. Aside from the details of previous emails and a link to the post, I boldly questioned their intent regarding the uniforms.

I previously wrote about my suggestion re the uniform of the Spiral Restaurant servers. My observation also has been confirmed by a certain Mr. Ayie Aquino, who left a comment on my blog and believes that seeing the servers’ underwear is part of the Sofitel experience.

“I actually am not bothered by the fact that these sexy, gorgeous ladies have crotch-high slits. It’s great! That’s one of the reasons I love going to Spiral. What bothers me is why they have to wear panties. I think just stockings without panties would be much better.”

I am not certain that that is what you wish to be known for, for it does not speak well of a five star hotel.

I was shocked to receive a response:

Dear Ms. Lopez,

Bonjour from Sofitel Philippine Plaza Mania.

This is to confirm receipt of your email regarding the Spiral uniforms.

We would like to thank you for the time taken to bring up to us your concern. Rest assured that action is being taken to address this matter. The slits of the uniform are part of the design and it is not in our intention to have this kind of perception. However, this causes us deep concern and new uniforms will be provided to the receptionists.

Ms. Lopez, once again we thank you for your patronage and we look forward to the pleasure of having you back with us again. In the meantime, if I can be of any assistance, please do not hesitate to let me know.
