Chuckles — The French Connection (Part 1)

La Sirena Pizzeria Paris Owner with Filipina Clients

As a trio of Filipinas chattered animatedly in a pizzeria in Paris during a three-day trip, they were surprised when the French pizzeria owner ambled over and exclaimed, “Oh, Filipinas!”

When they asked him how he knew that they were from the Philippines, he explained, “I have a house in Naic Cavite.” It turns out that he has a Filipina wife who is currently on vacation in her home country.

When they were served lunch by the pizzeria owner’s son, they were amazed even further when it was done in Filipino, “‘Eto na po ang order ninyo.” It seems that he grew up in the Philippines before relocating to Paris, so he still remembered how to speak in Filipino.

He even served as an interpreter from French to Filipino when an amorous Parisian approached their table and expressed his admiration for one of the ladies and his desire to marry her. She had to refuse because she was already married.
