UP in 3D
I aspire to be as good as a storyteller as the Pixar guys! It was just brilliant how they made the lead of an animated film be a cantankerous senior citizen named Carl who went for one last adventure in tribute to his departed wife, before wholeheartedly succumbing to the ministrations of the angel of death himself.
His unspoken plans were thwarted when, unexpectedly, he was joined by a fatherless tyke named Russell, a giant bird baptized as Kevin but turned out to be a mother bird to three chicks, and a dog in need of a master.
How this can be morbid tale of Carl be turned around into a mischievous romp through the jungle and the skies trying to escape an obsessed adventurer hell bent on capturing Kevin while achieving a lifelong dream of reaching Paradise Falls, and, in the process, becoming the hero of the day, speaks highly of the genius of the Pixar storytellers. My hat off to you, ladies and gentlemen! *Brava! Bravo! clapping galore*
And, the 3D film version just made the UP experience the cherry on top of a very creamy dollop filled ice cream dessert.
