Dulcinea Tomas Morato Inattentive Wait Staff (Ire)

Dulcinea Megamall Churros Con Chocolate

Maybe because it was Sunday. Maybe because it was raining. I don’t know, but, the service at Dulcinea Tomas Morato on 26 July 2009 was quite poor because its wait staff was not paying attention to its clients.

Three straightened arms raised towards the ceiling were not enough to call a waiter over. Plates and glasses cornered to the edge for easy access for clearing was not enough of a hint.

Since my friends and I were there for a long chat, we stayed for about 3 1/2 hours, and, experienced a full gamut of inattention, broken by about four instances when a waiter would actually come over and do his job, roughly 10% of the time. Strangely enough, it’s not as if the place was overflowing with people that early afternoon. In fact, there were numerous members of the wait staff hanging around.

Moreover, the decision to deviate from my usual order of cream puffs and eclairs led to the revelation that the girls behind the pastry counter do not know their products. Questions regarding what the other delectable goodies were were forwarded to the nearby cashier, who was more familiar, but, whose product knowledge, unfortunately, was still not enough to answer the basic question of ‘What is it?’

And, the litany of ‘Churros, churros, churros’ reminded me why I go to Dulcinea.
