John Lloyd Cruz Launched as SWATCH Endorser

Virgie Ramos, lovingly called “Tita Virgie” by her alagas, owns the distribution rights to Swatch watches in the Philippines, and personally handpicks its endorsers.
Her next choice to represent the iconic watch is none other than John Lloyd Cruz himself.
John Lloyd Cruz follows in the footsteps of other celebrity endorsers such as the original SWATCH girl Mikee Cojuangco, together with Lea Salonga and Gary Valenciano.
During his launch as the newest SWATCH endorser at The Establishment! at the Fort on 22 July 2009, Tita Virgie’s choice was proven even more correct when John Lloyd Cruz showed poise and class when his ex-girlfriend, Preview Magazine fashion editor Liz Uy, unexpectedly won a raffle prize.
The respected actor left the stage to personally give the prize to Liz Uy, and, also gave her a hug, which sent the spectators into teasing hoots. The two gamely posed for pictures as well.

Afterward, John Lloyd Cruz told PEP how he felt during the moment that rivaled the launch itself.
We’re good friends now. I was very happy to see her, kasi hindi ko na siya ganun madalas makita ngayon. When I embraced her, it felt good.
