Repertory Philippines The Fantasticks 2009
PJ Valerio and Julia Abueva are joining a worldwide 50th year celebration of The Fantasticks — “the world’s longest-running musical and the longest-running uninterrupted show of any kind in the United States,” which has been deemed by broadway.com “as much part of the New York experience as Radio City Music Hall.”
For decades the musical has enchanted generations of theatergoers. In the Philippines, the lead roles of the pseudo star crossed lovers of Luisa and Matt have been played by Repertory Philippines “Artistic Director Baby Barredo in the title role of the dreamer Luisa and acclaimed musical theater actor Cocoy Laurel as Matt,” followed by Menchu Lauchengco-Yulo, Gia Macuja, Liesl Batucan, Jaime Blanch and Raymond Lauchengco in latter productions.
Repertory Philippines will revive the beloved musical “Fantasticks†with performances at Onstage at Greenbelt One, Paseo de Roxas, Makati, from 03-26 July 2009. For tickets, please call 887.0710 or 888.0887.
