Banco de Oro SM Cubao Service Turnaround (Eye)

I arrived at Banco de Oro SM Cubao branch an hour before its closing on 06 June 2009. Since it was my first time to visit the newly renovated bank, I just grabbed a slip, picked a line randomly, and, while standing, began to scribble furiously on the bank deposit slip.

A few seconds later, a guard approached me and advised that the single transaction lane was on the other side. I thanked him and scrambled to move to the correct line.

I was third in line when one of the staff members behind the counter asked who has a cash transaction. I raised my hand and was directed to the customer service area where my deposit was immediately recorded.

The observant guard and the concern for the time element are complete turnarounds from the time when Banco de Oro was still housed on the side of Shoemart Cubao facing Ali Mall. Then, the staff would be so offhand and indifferent that I wanted to take my business somewhere else. However, proximity was a major factor so I heaved a sigh and slugged it out to open a bank account, but, made sure to keep my visits down to a minimum.

It’s new location on the opposite side of Shoemart Cubao facing EDSA seems to have born a totally new attitude. To experience such concern and brisk service from the present Banco de Oro SM Cubao staff is a delightfully shocking revelation.
