Chuckles — The Bigger Half
As I spied the remains of a Starbucks OREO Cheesecake in the refrigerator of my sister-in-law’s house, I eagerly asked, “Can I have it?”
She assented. However, my niece was in the vicinity and piped up, “Can I have half?”
Of course I said yes, but, she made an additional request, “Can I have the bigger half?”
Her mom and I laughed at her question and teased her about her definition of what are supposedly equal halves.
After my niece ate her share and she gave me the smaller half, she asked me, “Are you going to eat the cookie?”
“No.” And then I looked at her mock-suspiciously. “Why?” With her stance and question, I gave up and asked, “Do you want my smaller half?”
“Yes!”
At her very enthusiastic reply, I sighed and gave her the remaining Starbucks OREO Cheesecake. So much for halves…
