5 Tips for the Universal Studios Singapore Auditions

Do Your Research I was very happy that I grabbed a few minutes to peruse the Universal Studios Singapore website before I went to the auditions.

The site provided all the information that one can possibly need, from what to wear, what to prepare (a monologue or a short song), and what to expect during the auditions.

Moreover, the site will provide plenty of information as to what kind of characters and performers Universal Studios Singapore requires, so one has an idea of what to project during the auditions. I suggest you read everything.

And, unless you’re well versed with the movies Universal Studios is known for, familiarize yourself with the characters by watching clips from the movies. For example, it’s a good thing I’ve seen the Shrek movies, because the knowledge proved invaluable during the improvisational games.

Open Your Schedule Although there is a schedule that is being followed, the sheer number of auditionees might require some flexibility on your part. Make sure not to schedule anything else except the auditions for the day so that you will not run yourself ragged trying to make it for another appointment.

Bring A Ball pen, Snack and Lots of Water With the long hours of waiting, make sure you’re hydrated and energized with a little stack of snacks and drinks. There will be lots of forms to fill out so a pen will be really handy as well.

Be a Team Player During the auditions, make sure to demonstrate your interpersonal skills. The final team members at Universal Studios Singapore will comprise of professionals from around the world so the ability to interact and to cooperate are essential. For example, the dancers and singers must be able to show that they can perform a routine in unison.

Smile and Have Fun Since Universal Studios Singapore is a theme park, the ability to smile and have fun at what you do will be very important. The ability to smile for hours on end is a skill by itself. Start training your facial muscles.

The Manila leg of the Universal Studios Singapore Auditions will end today, 16 May 2009. The audition team is scheduled to proceed to major cities in Australia, Canada and the USA. Universal Studios Singapore is scheduled to open during the first quarter of 2010.

Break a leg, everybody!
