Dairy Queen Chocolate Extreme Blizzard Less Cocoa Fudge (Extreme Ire)

I stared dubiously at the mostly white vanilla looking Chocolate Extreme Blizzard that I was served at the Dairy Queen Araneta Coliseum Circle in the late evening of 10pm on 28 April 2009.
When an exploratory spoonful did not give any hint of chocolate flavor, I went back to the counter.
I asked if their preparation of the Chocolate Extreme Blizzard was correct because I couldn’t taste the chocolate.
After several affirmations that it was prepared correctly, I informed them that it was my first time to order the Chocolate Extreme Blizzard (so I was at a disadvantage knowledge wise), but that the Dairy Queen Ali Mall cashier during my last Dairy Queen visit had described the Chocolate Extreme Blizzard as basically Brownie Temptation with choco chunks instead of nuts.
(Now, I am VERY familiar with the Brownie Temptation Blizzard (pictured above) because it’s usually the only thing I order at Dairy Queen, since it’s the only chocolate blizzard they have; and, the reason I was so eager to try the Chocolate Extreme Blizzard was to have an alternative to the Brownie Temptation Blizzard.)
Cashier Marites Barang offered to add more cocoa fudge at an additional price, a suggestion I ignored.
Finally, one of the Dairy Queen food servers offered to replace the blizzard. When a brown looking blizzard was served, I quizzed him about the recipe for the Chocolate Extreme Blizzard and found that it was supposed to have even MORE cocoa fudge than the Brownie Temptation Blizzard, making it even clearer that a mistake had been made.
I approached cashier Marites Barang, who I also learned was the manager and said, “Excuse me, the fact that I was asking so many questions should already have given you a clue that I was a dissatisfied customer. You should have offered to replace the product. You should not have waited for a subordinate to make the offer. This is Dairy Queen after all. And, if you’ve made a mistake, you should apologize.”
She apologized.
Note: It’s very important for people, in general, to assume responsibility for their actions. The fact that she was willing to let me receive what should have been obviously a substandard product (if I can tell something was wrong then the more she should have been able to since she’s a Dairy Queen manager), and the TEMERITY to make me pay for what should have been in the product in the first place is… In effect, I would also be paying to right the wrong that had taken place…
Anyway, that’s why this post is labeled Extreme Ire.

I had a similar experience at DQ. The girl at the cashier simply said “toppings lang po talaga ang fruits sa blizzard, kaya wala na sa ilalim.” The whole point of the blizzard is that the “toppings” are mixed with the ice cream, diba?
yeah come to think of it, the stawberry banana blizzard i had a while ago only had 1 nugget of strawberry in it and a couple of small banana chunks. if i hadnt taken a long walk already away from the DQ stall before i noticed, (and a haircut appointment) i would have gone back to complain
they dont make good old blizzards the way they used to
