Anna Maria Perez De Tagle, familiar to Hannah Montana and Camp rock fans, recently had the opportunity to show off her singing skills, a talent that runs in the family (her grandmother is soprano Sylvia La Torre, “one of the famous comediennes-actresses during the heydays of Sampaguita Pictures and LVN Filmsâ€), and a talent that is virtually unknown by her contemporaries and fans, as she tells Philippine Daily Inquirer.
Not many people know that I sing and I write songs because I show a different side of me in Hannah Montana. But I do all these and I also design clothes,†she says.
For her performance, Anna Maria Perez De Tagle chose a trademark song by one of her singing idols — Reflection by Lea Salonga from the Disney film Mulan.
Anna Maria says she always watched Lea’s concerts when she was a young girl, and until now when her busy schedule permits.
Soon, a lot more people will be familiar with this Pinay teener’s singing skills as she is scheduled to appear in the remake of the 1980 hit musical dance film Fame that will open on 25 September 2009 in the US.
