Aside from High School Musical star Vanessa Hudgens, another Pinay who is part of the Disney camp who is making waves is Anna Maria Perez De Tagle.

Anna Maria Perez De Tagle is the granddaughter of soprano Sylvia La Torre, “one of the famous comediennes-actresses during the heydays of Sampaguita Pictures and LVN Films.”

At the age of four, Anna Maria Perez De Tagle was already deemed by her famous grandmother as having a “tone” and would give her voice lessons whenever she could.

Anna Maria Perez De Tagle is familiar to TV audiences because of her stints in Hannah Montana and Camp Rock. Now, she’s very excited to be in her first feature film — a remake of the 1980 hit musical movie Fame — in the role of Joy Moy.

Of her numerous Fame scenes, Anna Maria recounts three that are special to her, “The ones that I think stick out for me is when you first meet Joy – it’s a pretty hilarious scene and I got to film with Collins Pennie (who plays Malik) – it was a laugh fest! Also, a dramatic scene that I got to film with my best friend on/off screen Paul McGill: it’s supposed to be an intimate scene between the best of friends – I think people will enjoy watching that one. And also the “one on one” scene I did with Debbie Allen! It was really great!”

Aside from Debbie Allen, another dancing great to be featured in the film is Bebe Neuwirth.

Fame is scheduled for a 25 September 2009 US release.
