The Runaway Credit Card (Ire)
The SpongeBob raincoat displayed on a mannequin in an Ali Mall store immediately caught my fancy. As I was paying for it, the cashier gave my credit card to another shop girl, who, to my surprise, went out of the store to goodness knows where.
The cashier explained that my credit card was being taken to their “sister” store, Girl Shoppe, for verification, and then will be brought back for my signature.
Although I understood the need to save on overhead expenses by only having one credit card facility, I explained that it went against security protocol not to have my card within my sight at all times.
Since I couldn’t stand the anxiety, I requested the cashier to call the other store and tell them to wait for me.
I rushed out with my SpongeBob raincoat, and concluded the transaction in Girl Shoppe, where the staff was waiting expectantly for me.
