Shrek the Musical Attracts Hollywood Celebrities with Families

Shrek and Mike Myers

So far, Chris Rock, Hugh Jackman, Courteney Cox and Rosie O’Donnell have been spotted taking their tots and other family members to watch the live musical version of the hit blockbuster movie — Shrek

In Touch Weekly chatted with the actor behind the green ogre, Tony Award nominee Brian D’Arcy James, who is very proud of the hit Broadway musical, and how it is has become, in its short run of three months, the introduction to theatre for some children.

It’s a lot of fun — especially when the celebrities bring their kids. It’s fun to see the people who you respect out with their kids. It feels great seeing Hugh Jackman and Chris Rock sitting in the audience because it makes them human. And everyone wants to appreciate a good time. And it’s for the kids really, so it must be nice to see them there. The show is magnetic in that way, and this is usually their introduction to theater, which I am very proud of.
