MRT Stored Value Ticket Load Deletion (Ire)

Senior Transportation Development Officer Nestor C. Real

When I was told last 25 January 2009 by the MRT Cubao ticketing officer that my stored value card has been deleted of its Php 16 load and “kasalanan niyo po dahil kayo po ang may hawak ng card (it’s your fault because you’re the one holding on to the card),” I told him, “Stop. Do not ever tell a client or a customer that it’s their fault.”

When the ticket personnel invited me to speak with the supervisor, for whom he was passing on the message about the ticket, I warned him to tell the supervisor to be careful when he speaks with me, and not to tell me it’s my fault without listening carefully to what I had to say.

I met with Senior Transportation Development Officer Nestor C. Real, to whom I explained that despite my visit to the stored value card window at the MRT Ayala station where I used the stored value card in question, I was told that the card was alright. And, despite my following protocol, my SV card has been deleted of its load when I tried to use it the following day.

Mr. Real admitted that the ticketing agent at the MRT Ayala should have clarified and corrected the SV ticket. When he asked me what did I want to happen since the card cannot be used any more, I simply requested that the remaining Php 16 load be returned to me.

Thus, I am now the recipient of two MRT station passes. Thank you for listening, Mr. Real.
