RCBC Cubao Tunes In to Inappropriate Radio Station (Ire)
“Ma’am, are you the manager?” I asked a passing lady on 15 January 2009 while inside the premises of RCBC Cubao.
Once the lady in question confirmed that she was indeed the bank manager, I proceeded to introduce myself, “Hi. I’m Lorna Lopez. It’s my first time in your bank. And, may I say that your choice of radio station creates a very unprofessional atmosphere with its sexist remarks.
“While I’ve been here, I had to listen to a radio jock talk about ‘malalanding babae na may kapit tuko at parang pusang maiingay na kailangang buhusan ng mainit na tubig (slutty girls with a lizard-like grasp who are so loud they should be poured with hot water to shut them up).’
“Maybe you can choose a radio station with music that can be just for background?”
The radio was turned off completely.
