Bb. Pilipinas Parade of Beauties 2008
As I sat waiting for an order in Hap Chan Ali Mall on 02 March 2008, the blaring band music made me glance curiously out the window. I was met with the sight of a float stuck in traffic in drizzling rain.
Since I was in Araneta Center, the three ladies in long red gowns can only be Bb. Pilipinas beauty pageant contestants.
I debated internally, and then, dashed out to get an interesting picture of beauties standing with grace under the rain.
Unfortunately, the three Bb. Pilipinas contestants in question were standing stoically while waiting for the float to move. Definitely not the picture that I want.
So I waved my hand in that regal way that Julie Andrews taught Anne Hathaway in the film Princess Diaries, and then raised my camera. Both actions immediately caught a couple of the contestants’ attention, and they caught on to what I wanted.
And, thus, I have a picture of beauty and grace under the rain.
