Happy Slip and her Acting Method

Christine “Happy Slip” Gambito at the Bloggers Meet and Greet in Manila Philippines

Here are the highlights regarding her acting method and training during the Q & A portion of Christine “Happy Slip” Gambito’s Meet and Greet last 07 February 2008 at Mag:net Café as sponsored by Team Yehey and the Department of Tourism.

Happy Slip did theatre during her high school days.

However, the theatre training beleaguered her camera acting classes as she was constantly told by her film instructor to make it “smaller.”

Happy Slip has also done her share of numerous auditions while she’s based in New York.

Happy Slip can read her lines in Tagalog but she can’t speak it fluently.

Genetically, Christine Gambito attributes her creative genes to her dad, whom she describes as “wacky” and whom she has observed to impersonate people like she does.

At a very young age, Happy Slip remembers observing her relatives and listening to “weird stories” about her family from her father.

Christine’s relatives do not mind that she does impersonations of them.

Christine Gambito answered the Q & A with a style that reminded me of Robin Williams, i.e., she would slip in and out of her Happy Slip characters.

After having taken her first jeepney (a local mode of transportation) ride, Christine Gambito was struck with the inspiration to do a video wherein all the Happy Slip characters would be in the jeepney.

Christine brought the costumes of her Happy Slip characters to the Philippines.

A 3 year old fan from the audience wondered why the other Happy Slip characters weren’t along with Christine Gambito during the Meet and Greet.
