Repertory Philippines Hamlet Marks Directorial Debut
Ana Abad Santos-Bitong and I attended summer Repertory workshops together years and years ago, and it is with utmost pride that I announce that she is making her directorial debut with Shakespeare’s Hamlet.
Ana, aside from honing her craft in numerous plays, mostly with Repertory Philippines, has also studied classical theatre at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts where New Voice founder Monique Wilson also trained.
Tonight, 01 February 2008, will also mark the world premiere run of Repertory Philippines production of Hamlet. Unbelievable, but true, that this landmark theatre group has never staged the famous play.
