Les Mills Program Descriptions
Body Balance Body Balance is perfect for improving muscular strength and endurance, plus flexibility, as one goes through yoga, pilates, and tai chi inspired movements. Slow and relaxed breathing will be in focus throughout the class, while a short meditation ends the Body Balance experience.
Fitness First SM North, Manila and Mall of Asia have dedicated Body and Mind Studios for Body Balance classes.
Body Combat This is a class that mixes the disciplines of boxing, kick boxing, muay thai, tae kwan do and karate. Expect repetitive intense movements combining jabs, punches and kicks. Body combat is excellent for cardiovascular endurance.
Body Pump Body Pump is one of the most popular Les Mills classes in the world as it builds muscular strength and endurance by using different combinations of weight and body weight. The Body Pump program will go through most of the major and minor muscles in the body from leg, chest and back exercises to triceps, biceps and abdominal exercises.
Body Jam Body Jam has attracted a vast number of fans in the Philippines and remains one of the most attended classes. Traditionally, Body Jam is a collection of Latin tracks that are interspersed with hiphop, but it has now expanded to the 40s jive, jazz, line dancing and interpretative dancing. Groove to cuts by Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera and the Pussycat Dolls, just to name a few.
RPM Using the stationary bike, RPM will take the participant over different kinds of terrain by changing the intensity through music and the bike’s mechanism. Since it uses leg strength, expect a lot of calorie burning, and great toning for your legs and buns.
Body Attack Body Attack uses the principle of interval training as high intensity cardiovascular tracks are interspersed with strength and stabilization exercises.
Body Step An adjustable step and funky moves up, down and over the step, will workout those leg muscles.
Mix and Match Although working out the heart and lungs is very important (Body Combat, Body Jam, Body Step and RPM), paying attention to muscular strength and endurance (Body Balance and Body Pump) is equally important for injury and bone loss prevention; so make sure to mix and match the Les Mills programs.
Worldwide Synergy At any given time, the Les Mills programs here in the Philippines are the same in most parts of the world. So if you travel, you will be working out to the same groove.
