Chuckles — A Cooking Lesson
As we ate the whole roasted chicken that my brother had cooked for our lunch, we all exclaimed our appreciation. My brother humbly waved off our praises and said it was the spices; and, promptly picked up the sprig on top of the chicken to ask the children, “What’s this?”
My five year old nephew immediately replied, “Rosemary.”
I was shocked that he knew that it was, indeed, a sprig of rosemary. I only learned what rosemary was after having played Ophelia in Hamlet and had to say rosemary in the character’s famous monologue.
My brother explained, “He learned it from the Disney Pixar film Ratatouille.”
Oh wow! The children really learned something from the rat that loved to cook.
