Cameron Diaz, who has immortalized the voice of feisty Fiona for the Shrek animated film series, attended the opening of Shrek the Musical on Broadway.
When she was asked if she would be trying her hand at musical theatre, she made it very clear that she will not be treading the stage boards any time soon, “Absolutely not. What they do up there … is, to me, impossible. It’s wonderful, though. They’ve done such a great job. They worked really hard, and it really pays off.” (For a very short glimpse of Shrek the Musical and Cameron Diaz at the premiere, go to 0:57)
Cameron Diaz, together with Mike Myers and Eddie Murphy, are also set to reprise their roles as Fiona, Shrek and Donkey for the fourth installment of the film franchise, slated to be released in 2010.
