Hugh Jackman Announced as Host of the 2009 Oscars
Recently proclaimed as People magazine’s choice for the Sexiest Man Alive, Aussie actor Hugh Jackman will not only be strutting his gorgeous bod but his amazing pipes and terpsichorean skills to host next year’s Oscar Awards.
Oscars show producer Larry Mark told Patrick Goldstein of the Los Angeles Times, “The Oscars are a celebration of movies, so who better to host than a movie star. Hugh can not only hold the screen, but he can hold the stage too, which is no small feat these days. He’s done major theater work, from ‘Oklahoma!’ to ‘Sunset Boulevard,’ and he’s not only hosted the Tony Awards, he actually won an Emmy for hosting them.
“That’s not to suggest that the Tonys were an audition, but in a way they were. The fact that he was brilliant doing the Tonys certainly spoke well for his abilities.”

Hi Oats! Thanks for the endless patient efforts to comment. Yes, we’re currently making arrangements for Spelling Bee and Spring Awakening. I’ll send out announcements by January 2009. Thanks for the enthusiasm!

Oh yay!
*throws confetti in the air* Hugh Jackman is an amazing actor…both in films and stage. Though I have yet to watch him perform live.
Speaking of musicals…will you be selling tickets for Spelling Bee and/or Spring Awakening for next year?
NOTE: Trying to post this comment for the 5th time…

Thanks for the video. “Wolverine doesn’t do high kicks.” LOL! What an inspired choice for Oscar host! His opening monologue should be something to look forward to. Haha!
