Repertory Philippines Reveals its Candida and Paula for Portrait of the Artist as Filipino

Irma Adlawan and Ana Abad Santos - Bitong Alternate as Candida Theater veterans Irma Adlawan and Ana Abad Santos - Bitong will alternate in the role of Candida in the Repertory Philippines production of Portrait of the Artist as Filipino. The classic Nick Joaquin play will open next year’s season on 16 January 2009.

Irma Adlawan as Candida and Liesl Batucan as Paula Fresh from their pairing as the first and third wives in David Henry Hwang’s The Golden Child, the two female actors are excited to reunite once again in another play.

Portrait of the Artist as Filipino Cast During Its First Reading The Portrait of the Artist as Filipino cast had its first reading on 19 November 2008 at the Repertory Philippines rehearsal hall. Director Jose Mari Avellana is very proud of the cast that he was able to put together, calling them “reacting” actors.
