Eduardo “Toto” Sicangco and The Forbidden Kingdom Connection

Eduardo Sicangco, fondly called ‘Toto’ by his close friends and family, has been quietly and steadily amassing an impressive body of work since he left the Philippines. His contribution to the film, The Forbidden Kingdom, as a conceptual artist is probably the most popular one because of its high visibility, generating excitement with the first time pairing of action superstars Jackie Chan and Jet Li.

Ayala Museum will exhibit his impressive work as a scenographer, which combines the disciplines of set and costume design, from October 2008 to January 2009 in a collection entitled From Inspiration to Illusion. It includes sketches from the film, as well as scale models. After watching the video above, you can spot some of the designs in the Monkey King sequence from The Forbidden Kingdom video below.
